Basileios, protospatharios (?), 11th century. Seal (Lead, 23 mm, 7.36 g, 12 h). +ЄMANOHΛ IЄ[...] - Kufic or Armenian (?) legend in the fields. Bust of Christ Emmanuel, raising his right hand in benediction within a fold of his garment and holding book of Gospels in his left hand. Rev. +RAC-HΛIOC A'C[Π]AΘ-APIO... Cruciform Kufic or Armenian (?) legend. Unpublished in the standard references. A highly interesting bilingual seal. Very fine.
